It is a colourless transparent liquid with a strong smell.
Depending on the purpose three grades of liquid ammonia are produced:
A – for nitric acid production, for nitration, as a cooling agent and for protective atmosphere creation;
Ak – for exporting and transporting in ammonia-supply pipeline;
B – for refining into fertilizers and for usage in agriculture as a nitrogen fertilizer.
